Watch an artist work
Axel Boy puts a stereo slope at the start of his master chain: bass under 140 Hz in mono, the highs wider. Hear it without and with. Every artist course runs like this: one full track, start to finish, explained as it's made.

DNB Academy FAQ
What is DNB Academy?
DNB Academy is an online drum & bass production school. You learn from courses by industry artists, follow a structured path in DNB Foundations, get weekly live feedback, and can work 1:1 with an artist-mentor. 50,000+ producers have joined and 500+ have been mentored 1:1.
Is DNB Academy good for beginners?
Yes. Complete beginners are welcome. DNB Foundations starts from your first beat and covers drums, bass, theory, arrangement and mixing step by step. Our mentors work with beginners and advanced producers.
Which DAW do I need?
Use the DAW you already have. DNB Foundations is taught in FL Studio, Ableton Live and Logic Pro, and the techniques carry over to any DAW.
What can I learn for free?
A free account gives you free lessons, sample packs and presets in the Member Hub. Our free guides cover bass design, drums, mixing, chords and every major drum & bass subgenre, each with a video.
What's in the DNB Academy Vault?
The Vault holds every DNB Academy artist course (320+ lessons), 28 Serum and Vital preset bundles and 13 sample packs. Every Vault comes with a free 1:1 track review.
What's the difference between DNB Foundations, the Vault and mentorship?
DNB Foundations is a step-by-step program that takes you from your first beat to finished, mixed tracks in FL Studio, Ableton Live or Logic Pro, with a weekly live session on your music. The Vault is our library of artist courses, preset bundles and sample packs, where each artist shows how they make a full track. 1:1 mentorship adds a dedicated artist-mentor who reviews your tracks every week and plans your next steps with you.
Is DNB Foundations included in the Vault?
No. The Vault holds every artist course, preset bundle and sample pack, but not DNB Foundations. It works the other way round: DNB Foundations Lifetime includes the Vault. The monthly Foundations plan covers the six core modules and the weekly live sessions.
How does 1:1 mentorship work?
You're matched with an artist-mentor for your subgenre and DAW, with weekly track feedback and daily live sessions. It starts with a free training, then a free 1:1 track review call where we listen to your music and plan your next steps.
Who teaches at DNB Academy?
Industry drum & bass artists, each teaching their own course: Kove, Mat Zo, Icicle, Counterstrike, DC Breaks, Synergy, Dualistic, Axel Boy, GEST, Abis, Telomic, HumaNature, Creatures, Arkaik, Villem, Bop, Jon Tho, GLXY, Edlan, Kasger, Molecular, Maztek, Bass Brothers, Current Value, Dossa & Locuzzed and more. New courses are launching in 2027.
